Heidi Lawton is the managing broker and principal of Lawton Realty Group, Inc., founded by Ms. Lawton in 1989. Lawton Realty Group, Inc. a private full-service commercial real estate firm which specializes in acquisitions, development, brokerage, and management of investment property throughout the United States with emphasis on retail and large multi-family complexes, Ms. Lawton has over twenty years of experience acquiring, developing and managing, as well as arranging financing for large commercial properties. Her areas of expertise include acquisitions of large retail portfolios, property development; structuring real estate Investments, property conversions and implementing value add strategies. In the last couple years, Ms. Lawton has also personally acquired and developed projects in excess of $200,000,000 in total value.
Ms. Lawton has been licensed as a real estate professional since 1982 and has served as President of the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of REALTORS® (NICAR). Ms. Lawton is also an Independent Director of Inland Real Estate Corporation (IRC), a publicly traded shopping center REIT and has served on the board since 1994. She is currently the chairperson of the IRC compensation committee and a member of the nominating, corporate governance and audit committees. Ms. Lawton is also an Independent Director of Inland Diversified Real Estate Trust, Inc., a privately traded REIT formed to acquire and develop commercial real estate, since 2010. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR). In addition, she is a member of LAMBDA ALPHA INTERNATIONAL, the Realtor 40 Club, Advancing Oak Brook, and the Elmhurst Hospital Foundation of Emerging Leaders.
Ms. Lawton, born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago obtained her bachelor's degree from National Louis University in business management. Her charitable focus has been dedicated to helping Children.
